What We Need to Become Sustainable (scroll down below)

Environment Matters

What we need is to retrain all our energy workers on renewable energy installation and maintenance; solar, wind, responsible hydro, and responsible biomass, but mainly solar and wind, using thoroughly recyclable components. Then we also need to transition the automotive industry to 100% electric vehicles within 3-5 years if at all possible, which it is, because they have proven it is possible in 1942 when US automotive manufacturers completely transformed their production line from 100% cars to 100% tanks in 3 years. Then we need to transition our agriculture systems to regenerative agriculture practices, go back to giving food animals grazing land, no more caged animals or confined animal feeding operations, no more artificial pesticides, hormones, GMO’s, or other artificial methods which lead to long-term problems. This needs to be mandated by government to prevent ambitious entrepreneurs from cutting corners. We need to outlaw monocrops and monoculture and bring back more distributed agriculture practices that don’t degrade the soil. Again, mandated. Government is absolutely necessary for this just transition to sustainability to enforce sustainable measures, which necessitates increase on taxes and centralized authority, but it needs to be done in a transparent and auditable manner holding everyone accountable and corrupt officials need to be persecuted; bribery and money-based lobbying eliminated. Then we also will probably have to limit the number of children each father and mother can have to 2 to prevent rampant overpopulation and child abuse and child neglect. We cannot simply let population grow out of control. If a child dies, another child can be permitted. In the case of severe birth defect, additional children could also be permitted, unless there is increased genetic risk. We then need to stop subsidizing meat production and fossil fuel production. Encouragement of local plants, local farms, and local food production will help. We need to end the practice of habitations in sacrifice zones and rampant pollution and get this under control. No dumping of toxins into rivers and waterways. Limits to air pollution. Equitable distribution of food, and some kind of ban on throwing out perfectly good food. Perfectly good food that is about to be thrown out needs to be redistributed by a simple, well-known agency of the government to families and individuals who need food worldwide. End sanctions and war, which of course cannot be enforced, but should be resolved. Housing subsidies to low income individuals and families should be made. Cleaning jobs from the government to clean public areas should be made. More public transportation using EV’s. Make all single-use containers biodegradable. Do not cut down trees in natural forests. We need to grow more trees for sinking carbon to combat global warming. Only cut down trees in tree farms that are planned on land that has already been degraded from natural. Build housing upwards with many floors instead of single floor homes. Do not destroy more natural habitat to build more homes. Build upwards not outwards. Stop giant chain franchises from dominating the suburbs. We need more variation and personality and small shops and businesses and more community centers and public meeting places. There needs to be more public bathrooms and rest areas. We need to take care of our people and love our people, not treat them like robot work machines.
